This role is pivotal in facilitating Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes and related Information Assurance (IA) activities. The engineer will collaborate with MDA cybersecurity management to ensure timely resolution of all cybersecurity matters, adhering to MDA Designated Accrediting Authority and Certification Authority standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct system accreditations and authorizations utilizing the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), with a preference for experience in the DoD RMF Assess and Authorize process.
  • Validate and comprehend NIST Security Controls.
  • Engage in the software assurance process as per MDA Software Assurance and Cybersecurity guidelines.
  • Utilize DoD mandated software tools such as eMASS, ACAS, and McAfee HBSS.
  • Review and implement DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), DISA Security Requirement Guides (SRGs), and NSA Security Configuration Guides.
  • Perform tasks related to system construction, documentation analysis, security hardening, and vulnerability management/reporting.
  • Contribute to the development of Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), manage library reviews, prepare for sprint releases, and conduct threat and risk assessments as part of software development teams.
  • Exhibit technical troubleshooting abilities and possess a solid understanding of the Risk Management Framework applicable to Department of Defense Information Technology.
  • Demonstrate the capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team of engineers and cybersecurity experts.
  • Research DoD policies and fulfill various security-related assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with cyber/software assurance and DevSecOps security tools.
  • Possession of a Secret Clearance.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or other IAT-III certifications); Security +.
  • Familiarity with DoD security compliance documentation relevant to Linux and Windows environments is preferred.
