General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer Associate to join our team. As a Network Engineer Associate, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing complex network systems for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Design and Implementation
- Design and plan complex network systems for Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), and Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs).
- Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture, including hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs.
- Network Testing and Troubleshooting
- Conduct thorough testing of network systems to ensure they meet performance and security requirements.
- Provide troubleshooting and support for complex and challenging network issues as they arise.
- Technical Expertise and Mentorship
- Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, including routers, switchers, firewalls, content filtering, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and Video Teleconferencing.
- Provide mentoring and leadership to less experienced engineers through technical talks and hands-on assistance.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network systems meet business requirements.
- Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or another related STEM field.
- Experience
- Minimum 0 years of related experience in network engineering.
- Skills and Certifications
- Strong understanding of Ethernet switching, Wireless Networking, Routing, IPv6, Firewalling, Video Teleconferencing, Content filtering, DNS, DHCP, Quality of Service, Windows Networking, and Linux.
- Vendor certification from Cisco or Juniper at the CCNP or JNCIS level is desired but not required.
- Experience with firewalls from Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto is desired.
- Some programming experience with a scripting language such as Perl, JavaScript, Python, etc. is desired but not required.

- The likely salary range for this position is $55,250 - $74,750.
