Possesses and applies a thorough understanding across critical tasks and significant assignments. Plans and directs major technology initiatives. Assesses performance outcomes and recommends substantial modifications impacting short-term project advancement and success. Operates as a technical authority across multiple project engagements.

Become an integral part of the agile team responsible for sustaining the Authority to Operate (ATO) for applications and systems.


Key Responsibilities:


oDevelop, modify, and implement security policies, procedures, and guidelines to protect the IT Portfolio and ensure compliance with Agency and NIST standards for system and information security.

This encompasses any new compliance directives established by external organizations, such as Executive Orders, DOJ policies, and FISMA mandates.
oProactively monitor systems and respond to security incidents through a documented and sanctioned system security plan.
oAssist in managing systems security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security software.
oConduct monthly vulnerability assessments, create monthly Plans of Action and Milestones (POAM), implement patches, and ensure controls are reviewed, adhered to, and adjusted as necessary.
oRegularly collaborate with stakeholder teams to coordinate responses to vulnerabilities and risks identified in scans and POAMs.

oAid Government personnel in obtaining and/or maintaining system Authority to Operate (ATO) status, ensuring compliance with the requirements set forth by the Agency's OCIO.

All activities and documentation will be managed in Risk Vision, Xacta, or a similar system designated by the Agency's OCIO.

oServe as a subject matter expert for all information and system security-related issues, advising Government personnel on best practices and solutions while documenting all aspects of the security program.

oMay oversee others.

Basic Qualifications:
oBachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Cyber Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
o8-12 years of relevant experience.
oAbility to thrive in a small agile team environment.
oStrong communication skills.
oUS Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:
oFamiliarity with the Agency's Agile ATO process.
oExperience with RiskVision, Xacta, and JCAM.
oDOD Top Secret Clearance is required.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $101, $183,300.00
