Position Summary:
The Venue Operations Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing all facets of event management, including event preparation, facility operations, and production logistics. This position is responsible for managing venue operations, security protocols, and the formulation of policies, as well as overseeing production, maintenance, housekeeping, procurement, and contracted services. The aim is to ensure the highest quality of service for the assigned venue and all guests, tenants, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage the transformation of the event space according to the specific requirements of each event and client.
  • Ensure the venue is prepared and operations run seamlessly during events.
  • Assist senior management in establishing and maintaining a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure for all building operations.
  • Coordinate operational activities with other departments and external contractors to guarantee smooth event execution during set-up phases.
  • Select, train, motivate, and assess the performance of Housekeeping and Operations Supervisors, as well as part-time staff.
  • Provide and coordinate training for department staff, including mandatory compliance training to meet company standards.
  • Ensure staff operates safely and efficiently, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the operational workflow for facility events.
  • Manage the procurement of supplies and materials for housekeeping and operations, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients, maintaining a customer-first approach.
  • Work collaboratively with staff supervisors to address performance issues and implement necessary disciplinary actions.
  • Assist senior management in the overall daily operations of the facilities.
  • Oversee labor hours for staff and report allocations to the accounting department.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping for department payroll in compliance with requirements.
  • Participate in the development and management of the operations budget, forecasting additional staffing and material needs, monitoring expenditures, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain compliance with hazardous materials communication programs and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in event management, sports administration, business administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facility operations supervision or a similar role within a public assembly venue, demonstrating increasing responsibility.
  • Proven knowledge of supervisory principles and practices, with experience in managing work crews and adapting to varied work schedules.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective communication.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one.
  • Willingness to acquire valid forklift certification.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
