Position Overview: Qwaltec is in search of a dedicated Satellite Operations Trainee to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting various NASA initiatives and enhancing our advanced technological capabilities that underpin essential national services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily configuration of the simulation environment to facilitate requirements testing, operational procedure validation, and spacecraft training scenarios.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and initialization scripts for simulator configuration.
  • Effectively communicate with ground and operations teams regarding any limitations and their implications.
  • Assist the Simulation Lead in crafting spacecraft and payload anomaly scripts for contingency testing and operational training.
  • Acquire knowledge of NASA's mission operations philosophy, simulator architecture, and training methodologies applicable to various missions.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for on-site and remote simulation support.
  • Compile and submit weekly reports detailing achievements, challenges, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Organize and schedule simulator usage to align with mission testing and training requirements.
  • Conduct system maintenance and software installations within Windows/Linux environments.
  • Create and uphold comprehensive documentation regarding installation configurations and troubleshooting protocols.

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Space Systems) or a minimum of four years of related experience. Proven expertise in full-cycle software development is essential.

Proficiency in Dynamic/Object-Oriented Programming Languages is required.
