The **Senior Optimization Scientist** will be instrumental in enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of our multi-agent robotic systems. This position primarily involves the creation of advanced fulfillment algorithms in partnership with engineering, control, and operations teams. A robust technical foundation in optimization, queuing theory, and combinatorial optimization is essential, along with the adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

We prioritize teamwork, open-mindedness, and a fervor for innovation. The **Senior Optimization Scientist** will work closely with control systems teams and other interdisciplinary groups, including Data Science, Software Engineering, and Product Management, to improve emulation precision, devise data-driven strategies, and contribute to the design and development of predictive models and algorithms that utilize metrics to enhance system performance.

Key Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years of relevant research experience in cutting-edge methodologies related to resource allocation, optimization, planning, or routing.
  • A scientific mindset with the ability to innovate and exceptional creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical software package such as R, Stata, or MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with programming languages including Java, C++, and Python.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to develop system prototypes within a simulation environment.
  • PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multi-agent mobile robotic systems.
  • Background in optimizing automated fulfillment processes.
  • Expertise in designing algorithms that facilitate real-time decision-making for robotic systems.
  • Experience in developing robust optimization algorithms for multi-agent control systems.
