Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Fermentation Scientist to join our innovative team. In this position, you will be responsible for the design, enhancement, and scaling of fermentation processes aimed at producing biotechnological products. Your role will involve collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the effective transition of laboratory-scale processes to large-scale manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and refine fermentation processes for the production of biotechnological products.
- Conduct experiments and analyze results to optimize fermentation parameters.
- Work alongside research scientists to identify appropriate strains or microorganisms.
- Implement process optimization and troubleshooting to guarantee consistent product quality.
- Develop strategies for process control and collaborate with engineers on equipment design.
- Engage with quality control teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- Stay informed on the latest advancements in fermentation technology and contribute to ongoing process enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related discipline with 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in fermentation process development, optimization, and scaling.
- Strong understanding of microbial physiology, metabolism, and fermentation principles.
- Proficient in statistical analysis, experimental design, and process control methodologies.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and capacity to address technical challenges.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in cross-functional environments.
- Experience with operating laboratory bioreactors ranging from 1L to 100L.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality assurance practices in the biotechnology sector.
Physical/Mental Requirements: The role involves typical activities associated with bioprocessing laboratories and pilot plants.
Work Schedule: This position may require occasional out-of-hours work to support laboratory activities.
Interviews: The interview process will include a phone screening followed by an onsite interview.
