The Senior Optimization Scientist will be instrumental in refining the effectiveness and productivity of our multi-agent robotic systems. This position primarily involves the creation of advanced fulfillment algorithms in partnership with engineering, control, and operations teams. A robust technical foundation in optimization, queuing theory, and combinatorial optimization is essential, along with the adaptability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

We prioritize teamwork, creativity, and a commitment to innovation. The Senior Optimization Scientist will work closely with control systems teams and various cross-functional groups, including Data Science, Software Engineering, and Product Management. The goal is to improve emulation precision, devise data-driven strategies, and contribute to the design and development of predictive models and algorithms that utilize metrics to enhance system performance.

Key Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years of relevant research experience in cutting-edge techniques related to resource allocation, optimization, planning, or routing.
  • A scientific approach with strong creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical software package, such as R, Stata, or MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with programming languages including Java, C++, and Python.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to develop system prototypes in a simulated environment.
  • PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multi-agent mobile robotic systems.
  • Background in optimizing automated fulfillment processes.
  • Expertise in designing algorithms for real-time decision-making in robotic systems.
  • Experience in developing robust optimization algorithms for multi-agent control systems.
