Position Overview:

Pioneer Data Systems is seeking a dedicated Associate Scientist I specializing in Cell Culture to enhance our dynamic team.

Role Title: Associate Scientist I / Cell Culture

Contract Duration: 18 months, with potential for extension

Location: Onsite role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the upstream team in achieving project objectives while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Engage in technical documentation, review regulatory submissions, and assist in the Tech Transfer process.
  • Ensure the laboratory environment and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and operational state.
  • Adhere to safety and regulatory standards, documented through internal training initiatives.
  • Conduct experiments, analyze results, and present findings clearly.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry).
  • 0-3+ years of relevant bioprocess experience.
  • Proficiency in aseptic techniques.
  • Strong scientific knowledge in various upstream methodologies.
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis and thrive in a collaborative team setting.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting technical challenges and executing experiments independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Familiarity with designing lab-scale microbial fermentation processes and scaling to pilot or manufacturing levels.
  • Experience with bioreactor operations and related analytical tools.
  • Knowledge of control systems and data acquisition.
  • Understanding of cell culture and fermentation processes.
  • Experience in handling and interpreting large datasets.
  • Familiarity with process design and control strategies.
  • Experience in industrial-scale fermentation optimization and operations is highly valued.
  • Experience in designing and executing experimental programs in a laboratory setting.
  • A keen interest in exploring and applying current scientific literature.

Work Schedule:

This position requires occasional off-hours work to support laboratory activities.
