Position Overview: The Clinical Advanced Practice Provider is a certified healthcare professional who operates within the scope of practice typically associated with physicians. This role is designated for either a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant, who must possess a valid license in the State of Texas. The primary responsibility is to oversee the health and wellness of women seeking services at The Source, adhering to both state and federal regulations as well as established medical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of health status, formulate diagnoses, and develop tailored care plans.
  • Implement treatment strategies and evaluate patient progress effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director in accordance with legal guidelines.
  • Engage with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing or Physician Assistant program.
  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Possession of current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) licensure, along with National Physician Assistant Certification (NCCPA).
  • Active Texas State License.
  • National certification in Women's Health for Nurse Practitioners is preferred, or NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants.
  • Ability to operate independently without direct supervision from the Medical Director.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in Family or Women's Healthcare, with at least two years in a Nurse Practitioner role preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Athena software is preferred.
  • Current CPR certification as a healthcare provider.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with a compassionate and professional demeanor.

Essential Functions:

  • Deliver holistic care addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual health needs.
  • Perform women's health examinations, including pelvic exams, pap smears, and breast assessments.
  • Conduct comprehensive STI testing and provide appropriate treatment.
  • Administer pregnancy tests and perform limited obstetric ultrasounds.
  • Educate patients on pregnancy and sexual health, providing necessary referrals.
  • Document clinical findings and care provided in patient records.
  • Consult with the Medical Director regarding any clinical concerns related to patient health.
  • Facilitate referrals for emergency care as needed.
  • Assist the Medical Director with various administrative tasks.
  • Maintain compliance with established standards of care and continuing education requirements.
  • Participate in annual reviews of OSHA regulations and center policies.
  • Ensure BLS certification is current.
  • Collaborate with the Clinic Director and support teams for appropriate patient referrals.
