Position Overview: The Clinical Advanced Practice Provider is a licensed healthcare professional who operates in a capacity similar to that of a physician, focusing on women's health. This role is designated for either a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant. The provider must possess valid licensure in the State of Texas and is tasked with overseeing the health and wellness of female patients at The Source. This responsibility aligns with both State and Federal regulations, as well as established medical standards of care, which include health assessments, diagnosis, care planning, treatment implementation, and patient status evaluation.
Key Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing or Physician Assistant program.
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) along with National Physician Assistant Certification (NCCPA).
- Valid Texas State License.
- National certification in Women's Health for Nurse Practitioners is preferred, or NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants.
- Ability to operate independently without direct supervision from a Medical Director.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Family or Women's Healthcare, with at least 2 years in a Nurse Practitioner role preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Athena software is preferred.
- Current CPR certification as a healthcare provider.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and responsible work ethic.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Exhibit compassion, positivity, and professionalism in all interactions.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive care addressing patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual health needs.
- Conduct women's health examinations, including pelvic exams, pap smears, and breast assessments.
- Administer full-spectrum STI testing and treatment.
- Perform pregnancy tests and limited obstetric ultrasounds.
- Provide education on pregnancy and sexual health, along with necessary referrals.
- Document clinical findings and medical care accurately in patient records.
- Consult with the Medical Director regarding any clinical findings that may affect patient health.
- Facilitate appropriate referrals for emergency care when necessary.
- Assist the Medical Director with various tasks as required.
- Maintain high standards of care as established by leading health organizations.
- Adhere to ongoing state and professional education requirements.
- Participate in annual reviews of OSHA standards, center policies, and infection control procedures.
- Maintain BLS certification.
- Collaborate with the Clinic Director and Support Services Team for effective patient referrals.
