Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lending Center Specialist to join our team at Fort Liberty Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our lending team, you will be responsible for sourcing, developing, and closing real estate loans, as well as generating and aiding remote closings of new auto and consumer loan business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Loan Origination: Originate and complete all loan applications initiated in the Lending Center, gather necessary loan documents, collect upfront fees, and submit loan for processing.
  2. Customer Consultation: Consult with applicants on a variety of mortgage financing products and consumer loan programs the credit union has to offer.
  3. Lead Generation: Using credit union provided lists, contact members and prospective members to generate new consumer and real estate loans.
  4. Application Follow-up: Follow up on incomplete applications to help and/or determine applicant's intentions.
  5. Loan Coordination: Coordinate with mortgage processors, communicate with applicants and other parties respectively on the progress of the application.
  6. Loan Closing: Complete follow up with mortgage partners to ensure loan closing and resolve any problems while ensuring compliance guidelines.
  7. Loan Development: Source and develop loans for all aspects of our market including but not limited to: HELOC, residential real estate, new construction, auto loans, and consumer loans.
  8. Account Documentation: Work with loan center team to ensure that all pertinent account documentation is complete and accurate.
  9. Relationship Building: Support the credit union's strong relationship building culture through on-going member contact, quality member service, and superior product knowledge.
  10. Member Service: Build and maintain positive relations with all members, potential members, and co-workers.
  11. Account Opening: Assist potential members with opening membership account.
  12. Account Maintenance: Assist members with opening checking and savings accounts.
  13. Referral: Refer members when applicable to CUNA Mutual financial advisors.
  14. Compliance: Comply with all department and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements
  1. Education and Training: High School education or GED.
  2. NMLS Registration: Must be able to meet the qualifications necessary to be registered with the NMLS under the provisions set forth by the S.A.F.E. Act.
  3. Annual Training: On an annual basis is required to complete mandatory Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and Red Flag Identity Theft training.
Experience
  1. Lending and Sales Experience: 3-5 years lending and sales experience.
Interpersonal Skills

Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

Special Skills and Abilities
  1. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to explain and discuss complex and/or sensitive topics.
  2. Microsoft Office Proficiency: Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office products.
  3. Knowledge of Credit Union Regulations: Understanding and knowledge of credit union and lending regulations and responsibilities relating to each including a working knowledge of mortgages, liens, and other aspects of the loan collateral perfection.
  4. Knowledge of FLFCU Lending Products: Strong knowledge of FLFCU lending products, policies, and procedures.
  5. Self-Starter: Self-starter, ability to work independently.
  6. Leadership Abilities: Leadership abilities.
Working Conditions

The need for physical stamina is low to moderate. Moderate to significant local travel is required. Minimal adverse working conditions. Some fluctuations in temperature experienced in office setting. May need to work beyond normal working hours, pending organization needs.
