Job Overview

Scrap Metal Services, LLC., a prominent player in the Industrial Services and Metals Recycling sector, is in search of a highly skilled Corporate Maintenance Administrator. This role is pivotal in supporting the Director of Asset Management and involves collaboration across various sites to facilitate the scheduling of repairs, preventive maintenance, rebuilds, and other essential tasks as part of a holistic maintenance strategy.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the formulation of the company’s asset maintenance strategy and program.
  • Ensure effective planning and scheduling for both short-term and long-term maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams across all business units and third-party contractors to provide direct maintenance support.
  • Optimize maintenance resource utilization through the development of a comprehensive maintenance plan.
  • Adjust maintenance plans to accommodate variations in resource availability, completed work, or additional tasks.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update job plans for scheduled tasks.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance services in accordance with established intervals and standards, ensuring timely execution.
  • Identify necessary resources for planned tasks, including parts, tools, equipment, materials, and procedures.
  • Analyze data from oil samples, operating hour reports, mechanics' reports, and OEM guidelines to propose and schedule component replacements.
  • Support maintenance team leaders with data entry, backlog management, and work order oversight.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance functions.
  • Oversee warranty programs, ensuring timely claims and resolution of warranty issues.
  • Assist in the development of critical path plans for major shutdowns.
  • Participate in regular meetings to review and discuss daily and weekly work schedules.
  • Maintain accurate and essential data within the ERP system.
  • Conduct training sessions, both on-site and via video conferencing, for new applications or staff at new job locations.
  • Implement strategies to enhance maintenance performance, including involvement in training and development efforts.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive performance dashboards for each site, focusing on maintenance functions.
  • Conduct on-site audits of the maintenance program and fleet to ensure adherence to maintenance standards.

Qualifications:
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably eMaint.
  • Familiarity with J.D. Edwards and ReportsNow is advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of experience in mobile maintenance planning within the scrap and heavy equipment industry.
  • Proven ability to diagnose issues and devise innovative solutions.
  • Capability to read and interpret equipment service manuals.
  • Demonstrated self-direction, teamwork, and leadership qualities.
  • Willingness and flexibility for occasional overnight travel.
