Key Responsibilities

Signal Support Systems Specialists are tasked with the integration of communication systems and networks. Their duties include:
  • Overseeing the functionality of radio and data distribution systems.
  • Executing signal support operations and providing unit-level maintenance on authorized communication equipment.
  • Installing, operating, and maintaining various signal support systems.

Advanced team members take on additional responsibilities such as supervising and training fellow Soldiers, ensuring the maintenance and installation of signal support systems, and offering technical assistance for both automation and communication devices.

Job Duties Include:
  • Maintaining radio and data distribution systems.
  • Providing technical support for computer systems.
  • Assisting with local area network training.
  • Conducting maintenance on equipment, terminal devices, assigned vehicles, and power generators.

Skills Development

As part of your training, you will acquire valuable skills, including:
  • Understanding mechanical and electrical principles.
  • Learning preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Mastering line installation and wiring techniques.
  • Comprehending communication security policies and procedures.
