Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Operations Director to join our team at Compass Group, North America. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for directing and overseeing the operational needs of the Housekeeping Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for departments financial data and statistics, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Monitoring of unit expenditures and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develops and recommends department operating budget and ensures the department operates within budget.
  • Coordinates housekeeping activities with other departments, including facilities management and patient transportation.
  • Actively communicates with administration and other hospital departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and supervises functions and activities of the department.
  • Establishes work standards and work flow to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Establishes and implements policies and procedures for departmental operations, including quality control and customer service standards.
  • Encourages and mentors staff creativity and innovation to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies, including OSHA and HIPAA.
  • Proactive in the achievement of the facility goals and objectives, including quality and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Demonstrates quality leadership in meeting performance plans and expectations.
  • Reads, develops, and administers Total Quality Management process to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develops and maintains job descriptions for department staff and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Encourages staff to participate in education programs to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Four year college degree and equal related experience required.
  • Five years of housekeeping management experience at a healthcare account required.
  • Must have the ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data.
  • General business acumen and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • High customer service and quality attitude, with ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
  • Public speaking skills and ability to utilize a participative approach to managing staff.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, and develop budgets with a complete understanding of facility needs and requirements.
  • Excellent stress management skills, administrative and organizational, and follow-through (with associates and clients) skills required.
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
