Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in the ER department at Medical City Arlington. As a key member of the management team, the CNC is responsible for directing, monitoring, and evaluating nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the ER department.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Current Texas State RN license or multi-state compact license.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • TNCC must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
  • Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN required within 1 year. Magnet/Pathways Accredited hospitals require BSN at time of hire.
  • Certification in specialty required within 1 year.
  • Completion of charge nurse course required within one year.
  • Other leadership training and activity in professional organizations highly preferred.
