Job Summary

USMD Hospital At Arlington LP is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional patient care while minimizing the risk of infection, contamination, harm, or injury.
  • Perform specific competencies as listed on the competency validation form.
  • Verify patient identity via use of two patient identifiers and check patient identification bracelet before procedures.
  • Provide timely updates, instructions, and patient education information to patients and families.
  • Follow hospital exposure control plans for blood-borne and airborne pathogens.
  • Communicate with peers and management any safety hazards identified in the workplace.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of cultural differences.
  • Participate in the performance improvement process within the hospital and department.
  • Deliver nursing care to assigned groups of patients, including education directed towards identified knowledge deficits, treatment planning, pain management, and discharge planning utilizing the nursing process.
  • Anticipate deteriorating life sign patterns or equipment malfunctions and take appropriate action.
  • Establish a compassionate environment providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Demonstrate proper body mechanics in all functions.
  • Wear proper identification while on duty.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current RN Licensure, either Texas or Compact.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • PALS (PACU and ER only) certification.
  • ENPC and TNCC are preferred for ER.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in nursing preferred.
