Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at North Oaks Medical Center. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all exams within personal licensed scope of practice.
  • Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of all radiographic equipment used for diagnostic radiology and intra-procedural imaging.
  • Review physician orders, checking for special instructions from requesting physician, and consult with the radiologist as necessary.
  • Pleasantly greet patients, confirming their identification and introductions.
  • Completely explain examination procedure to the patient and their family if present.
  • Ability to anticipate and meet the needs and expectations of customers.
  • Adjust technical factors in proportion to patient and body part being examined while minimizing radiation.
  • Provide radiation protection to patient, staff and self-according to prescribed safety standards.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology required.
  • Licensed by the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (LSRTBE) and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) within 90 days of graduation.
  • Completed American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • One year Radiologic Technologist experience to include clinical rotation in a hospital or diagnostic imaging center setting preferred.
Working Conditions

Positioning and turning of patients. Lifting of patients utilizing proper body mechanics.
