Job Summary

Sous Chef - Butler University

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Butler University. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and catering execution in a medium-sized dining hall.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing food costs, budgeting, and menu development.
  • Supervise food preparation and ensure consistent quality and presentation.
  • Lead and execute catering events.
  • Implement new culinary programs in collaboration with marketing and culinary teams.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for budget tracking and administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in high-volume food service or catering.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, quality standards, and cost control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
