Position Overview:

This role is integral to the instructional team within the Business and Information Technology division and reports directly to the Department Chair. We are seeking instructors in Computer Information Technology who are capable of delivering courses both online and in-person.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the planning, execution, and assessment of the educational process within the simulation lab environment.
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive course documentation as mandated by the institution.
  • Actively participate in college initiatives by serving on departmental and institution-wide committees.
  • Attend departmental meetings and contribute to the planning, execution, and evaluation of assigned courses for the ongoing enhancement of the curriculum.
  • Stay informed about current trends in education, nursing practices, and simulation lab operations to enhance instructional effectiveness.
  • Assist in the selection of textbooks, library resources, audiovisual materials, and other instructional aids utilized in the Simulation Lab.
  • Manage the checkout of equipment and supplies to students for Simulation Lab use.
  • Oversee the maintenance of supplies, equipment, and software utilized in the Simulation Lab.
  • Recommend updates and changes to supplies, equipment, and software to the director and fulfill assigned areas of the Master Plan for Program Evaluation.
  • Provide inventory and quality control data for supplies and equipment.
  • Foster a well-organized, safe, and clean learning environment.
  • Plan for the disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Collaborate with faculty to plan and assess nursing simulation activities.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of an associate's degree in information technology, computer science, or computer information systems is required.
  • At least three years of full-time experience in the IT field is essential.
  • Industry certifications are highly regarded.
  • Prior teaching experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Student-focused with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Stay updated on current trends in computer information systems.
  • Create an environment conducive to student learning and positive peer interactions.
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, peers, and students.
  • Actively engage in college committees and functions.
  • Assess learning situations and make decisions that prioritize student interests.
Supervisory Duties:
  • No direct reports.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Work typically occurs in a standard office and classroom setting.
  • Minimal physical effort is required; however, the ability to occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds is necessary.
  • Exposure to physical risk is limited.
Safety Responsibilities:

Ensure resources are available for the safe operation of units and promote workplace safety.

  • Compensation for this nine-month position is determined by years of teaching experience in higher education and the highest level of education attained, with base pay ranging from $43,000 for a master's degree to $49,880 for a doctorate. Additional compensation for overload and summer classes is provided.
