Job Summary

Kilgore College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced tutor to provide academic support to students in higher-level math and science courses. As a tutor, you will play a critical role in helping students achieve their academic goals and succeed in their studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in math and science courses, including algebra, statistics, calculus, physics, and chemistry.
  • Develop and implement customized lesson plans and study strategies to address each student's unique learning needs.
  • Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust tutoring methods as necessary to ensure academic improvement.
  • Communicate with students to provide feedback on student performance and areas for growth.
  • Stay updated on relevant curriculum changes and teaching methodologies.
  • Assist with retention efforts and provide resources and direction for safe operation of the college's programs and facilities.
Requirements
  • Eligible for employment in the United States.
  • Must have an AA/AS/AAS degree or higher from an accredited college/university with a (B) or above for the courses to be tutored.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.
Benefits
  • The rate of pay is $12 per hour.
  • Up to 19 hours per week.
  • Worker's Compensation.

Work Environment
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • None or very limited physical effort required.
  • None or very limited exposure to physical risk.
