Job Summary:

The Supervisor of Patient Care: Resource Pool is a key member of the management team at Akron Children's Hospital, responsible for overseeing patient care administered by the nursing staff during assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the hospital's business objectives by providing strategic leadership and guidance to the nursing staff.
  • Supervise and develop nursing staff, ensuring they meet company goals and expectations.
  • Manage department budgets and maintain expenditure controls.
  • Ensure quality patient care by effectively managing patient care activities and providing support to caregivers.
  • Communicate with nursing management staff about patient, staff, or hospital-related issues.
  • Make decisions and notify the Administrator on call in the absence of the Hospital Administrator.
  • Maintain operational aspects of the hospital and patient care units in collaboration with nursing and hospital staff support services.
  • Support the hospital's philosophy, objectives, educational efforts, and research efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Experience in clinical pediatrics is required.
  • Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
  • Experience in healthcare is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office or similar software is required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.
  • Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Ohio is required.
  • Current Health Care Provider BLS is required.
  • PALS, NRP, ACLS, or TNCC is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience supervising is preferred.
