Overview:

The Patient Care Supervisor is accountable for overseeing the nursing staff's delivery of patient care during the designated shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a vital member of the management team; possesses a thorough understanding of the business, financial aspects, industry standards, clientele, and strategic objectives.
  • Supervises nursing personnel, offering guidance, coaching, training, and performance management aligned with organizational goals.
  • Develops, manages, and adheres to the departmental budget to ensure financial accountability.
  • Ensures the provision of high-quality patient care through effective management of nursing activities during the assigned shift.
  • Conducts visits to patient care units to assess patient conditions, evaluate staffing requirements, and provide support to caregivers.
  • Communicates effectively with relevant Nursing Management personnel regarding any situations that may significantly affect patients, staff, or the healthcare facility.
  • Makes informed decisions and appropriately informs the Administrator on call in the absence of the Hospital Administrator or their designee.
  • Collaborates with nursing and hospital support services to maintain operational efficiency within the hospital and patient care units.
  • Contributes to the nursing profession and the hospital's mission through support of its philosophy, educational initiatives, and research activities. Upholds hospital and nursing policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Additional Information:
Technical Skills:
  • Required experience in clinical pediatrics.
  • Experience engaging with various organizational levels is essential.
  • Preferred background in healthcare settings.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, is necessary.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is mandatory.

Licensure:
Must hold a current nursing license in the State of Ohio. Current Health Care Provider BLS certification is required. PALS, NRP, ACLS, or TNCC certifications are preferred.

Experience:
3 to 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.

0 to 2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
