Overview:

The Patient Care Supervisor is accountable for overseeing the quality of patient care delivered by nursing personnel during the designated shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a vital member of the management team; possesses a comprehensive understanding of the business, financial metrics, industry standards, clientele, and strategic direction.
  • Leads nursing staff, offering guidance, coaching, training, and performance management aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Develops, oversees, and complies with departmental budgetary constraints to ensure financial accountability.
  • Ensures the promotion and maintenance of high-quality patient care through effective management of nursing activities during the assigned shift.
  • Conducts visits to patient care areas to assess patient conditions, evaluate staffing requirements, and provide assistance to caregivers.
  • Engages in communication with relevant Nursing Management personnel regarding any issues that may significantly affect patients, staff, or hospital operations.
  • Makes informed decisions and promptly informs the Administrator on call in the absence of the Hospital Administrator or designated representative.
  • Collaborates with nursing and hospital support services to maintain operational standards of the hospital and patient care units.
  • Contributes to the nursing department and hospital objectives through support of institutional philosophy, educational initiatives, and research activities. Upholds hospital and nursing policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Additional Information:
Technical Skills:
  • Required experience in clinical pediatrics.
  • Experience collaborating with various organizational levels is essential.
  • Preferred background in healthcare settings.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word is mandatory.
Educational Qualifications:
Degree:
Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.

Licensure:
Must hold a current nursing license in the State of Ohio. Current Health Care Provider BLS certification is required. PALS, NRP, ACLS, or TNCC certifications are preferred.

Experience:
3 to 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.

0 to 2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
