Position Overview:
As a key member of the management team, the Patient Care Supervisor is entrusted with overseeing the quality of patient care delivered by nursing personnel during designated shifts. This role is essential in ensuring that patient care standards are met and maintained effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Actively contributes to management by understanding business operations, financial implications, and strategic objectives.
2. Supervises nursing staff, providing guidance, coaching, and training to enhance performance in alignment with organizational goals.
3. Develops and manages departmental budgets, ensuring adherence to financial controls.
4.

Promotes and sustains high-quality patient care through efficient management of nursing activities during assigned shifts.


5. Conducts regular visits to patient care areas to assess patient conditions, evaluate staffing requirements, and support caregivers.
6.

Maintains communication with nursing management regarding any significant issues that may affect patients, staff, or hospital operations.


  • Responsible for making informed decisions and notifying the Administrator on call in the absence of the Hospital Administrator or designated representative.
  • Collaborates with nursing and hospital support services to maintain operational efficiency in patient care units.
  • Supports nursing and hospital objectives through educational initiatives and research, while adhering to established policies and standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
1. Required experience in clinical pediatrics.
2. Proven ability to work effectively with various organizational levels.
3. Preferred background in healthcare settings.
4. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) or equivalent software.

Education:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is mandatory.

Licensure:
1. Must hold a current nursing license in the State of Ohio.
2. Current Health Care Provider BLS certification is required; PALS, NRP, ACLS, or TNCC certifications are preferred.

Experience:
1. 3 to 5 years of relevant nursing experience is preferred.
2. 0 to 2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
