Job Overview

The Minga Education Group is seeking dedicated full-time and part-time educational support specialists.

We are in search of a Classroom Assistant who will aid educators in the organization and management of classroom activities. This role involves providing positive reinforcement for students, addressing their physical, academic, and emotional needs. Additionally, the assistant will play a crucial role during instructional periods. Classroom Assistants will work with students individually or in small groups, delivering fundamental instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, and other educational tasks as directed by teachers.

Ultimately, you will oversee and facilitate various developmentally appropriate activities based on the guidance of the assigned teacher. A flexible, patient, and genuinely caring approach towards students is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the classroom to foster a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Ensure adherence to classroom safety protocols at all times.
  • Employ various strategies to effectively manage student behavior.
  • Engage with students to promote and encourage their learning.
  • Assist the teacher in adapting materials to cater to the specific needs of each child.
  • Provide essential caregiving support and encouragement across all developmental areas.
  • Assist with personal or physical care as needed.
  • Implement necessary precautions to ensure student safety.
  • Monitor classroom dynamics to minimize distractions and disruptions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated experience as a Classroom Assistant or in a similar capacity.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
  • Passionate, dedicated, and committed to the education of children.
  • Experience supporting teachers in a classroom setting is preferred.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise patience with children, including those with special needs.
  • Capability to stand, move, and engage physically for extended periods.
  • A secondary school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
