Once Upon a Childcare is seeking a dedicated Pre-K Educational Support Specialist.

Compensation begins at $18.00, depending on qualifications and experience. Regular salary increases are provided based on adherence to program standards and performance metrics. We prioritize the growth of our staff and offer pathways for career advancement.


Employee Benefits:

  • All staff accumulate Personal Time Off (PTO) at a rate of 3.8 hours for every 40 hours worked, with no expiration and the ability to roll over to the next year.
  • Sick leave accrues at 2.6 hours for every 40 hours worked, capped at 48 hours per year, and can also roll over.
  • Holiday pay is calculated based on average hours worked and is provided after a 60-day introductory period.
  • A $100 monthly bonus is awarded for perfect attendance.
  • Employees receive a paid day off for their birthday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging and imaginative lesson plans tailored to the developmental stage of the children.
  • Utilize diverse educational methods (such as storytelling and play-based learning) to facilitate learning.
  • Monitor each child's progress to enhance their social skills and self-esteem.
  • Encourage peer interaction and assist in conflict resolution.
  • Guide children in developing their artistic and practical skills through a structured curriculum covering shapes, numbers, colors, and art.
  • Document children's development and communicate findings to parents.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents to gain insights into each child's background and emotional needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow educators.
  • Ensure the classroom environment is clean and adheres to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a licensed childcare setting.
  • Completion of child development courses from an accredited institution or relevant training programs is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of child development principles and preschool educational strategies.
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation protocols for educational environments.
  • Exceptional communication and teaching abilities.
  • Capability to mediate conflicts among children.
  • Patient, friendly, and dependable demeanor.
  • Certification in child CPR or a willingness to obtain it.
