Summary: The Family Support Specialist position provides a unique opportunity to positively influence the lives of individuals and their families by delivering essential assistance for their overall well-being. No previous experience or formal education is necessary, as comprehensive training will be provided. In this role, you will evaluate families' requirements and help them access vital social and community resources and benefits. The programs include initiatives such as Visitation Coaching, Family-Based Services, and Transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform evaluations of families to pinpoint their specific needs and challenges.
- Collaborate with DPHHS-CFSD to develop, organize, and implement programs that address various facets of family welfare.
- Support families in obtaining essential social and community resources, both formal and informal.
- Utilize logical reasoning to assess issues and identify effective solutions and strategies.
- Communicate proficiently through written and verbal channels, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
- Exhibit advanced computer skills, particularly with the G Suite platform.
- Adopt a proactive approach to assist both staff and clients in resource accessibility.
- Prioritize responsibilities, establish attainable goals, and create structured plans to fulfill work obligations.
- Complete any additional tasks as assigned by the Team Manager or other Management personnel.
Qualifications:
- Proficient computer skills, especially in utilizing the G Suite platform.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of various solutions.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, facilitating effective information exchange.
- Aptitude for gathering information from multiple sources, processing it efficiently, and making informed decisions.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to set objectives, prioritize tasks, and execute plans effectively.
- A commitment to serving the community with a servant leadership mindset.
