Once Upon a Childcare is seeking a dedicated Childcare Support Specialist to provide assistance across various age groups. The ideal candidate should be flexible and willing to work closing shifts. Our operational hours are from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Compensation begins at $18.50, commensurate with education and experience. We offer regular pay increases based on the achievement of program standards and expectations. We value our staff and encourage their professional development, providing numerous opportunities for advancement.
Benefits include:
- Accrual of Personal Time Off (PTO) at a rate of 3.8 hours for every 40 hours worked, with unused hours rolling over to the next year.
- Sick Pay accrual at 2.6 hours for every 40 hours worked, with a maximum of 48 hours available each calendar year, also rolling over if unused.
- Holiday pay based on average hours worked, available after a 60-day probationary period.
- A $100 monthly bonus for perfect attendance.
- Paid day off for birthdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create engaging and imaginative lesson plans tailored to the children in your care.
- Utilize diverse educational methods (such as storytelling and play) to facilitate learning.
- Monitor each child's development to enhance their social skills and self-esteem.
- Encourage peer interaction and assist in conflict resolution.
- Guide children in developing their artistic and practical skills through a structured curriculum (including identifying shapes, numbers, colors, and art).
- Track and report on children's progress to parents.
- Maintain regular communication with parents to understand their children's backgrounds and needs.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow educators.
- Ensure a clean and safe classroom environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- Completion of child development courses from an accredited institution and/or relevant certifications.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and preschool educational strategies.
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards for educational environments.
- Excellent communication and teaching abilities.
- Ability to mediate conflicts among children.
- Friendly, reliable, and composed demeanor.
- Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain.
