Clinical Nurse II Position

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our Perinatal Services team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide effective coverage for various roles, including clinical staff nurses, patient care coordinators, and scrub techs. Your expertise will ensure seamless collaboration with our teams to develop and implement plans of care for assigned patients, coordinating care between disciplines and support staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, incorporating psychomotor and age-appropriate cognitive skills to assess, plan, intervene, and advocate for patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement plans of care, ensuring coordination of care between disciplines and support staff.
- Act as a role model and mentor to students and nurses new to the unit, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Perform professional nursing duties, ensuring quality continuum of care and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Perinatal Services.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
- Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring certification (required within 6 months of hire).
- Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience working as a clinical lead or charge nurse.
- Demonstrated experience scrubbing in surgical procedures.
- Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families.
- RN licensure.
- NRP certification.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- Background check and live scan.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
- Vaccination policies.
- Smoking and tobacco policy.
- Drug-free environment.
