Clinical Nurse II

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assess, plan, intervene, and advocate for the patient on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. You will also evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of the plan of care, and readiness for discharge, and revise the plan or make referrals as necessary. Additionally, you will act as a role model and mentor to a variety of students and nurses new to the unit, and function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for assigned patients
Assess, plan, intervene, and advocate for patients on an ongoing basis
Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of the plan of care, and readiness for discharge
Act as a role model and mentor to students and nurses new to the unit
Function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager
Requirements
Minimum of six months demonstrated nursing experience
Minimum 1 year experience working in a direct patient care position in a Psychiatric inpatient or outpatient setting
CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification within 30 days of hire
All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements
Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
Licenses and Certifications
RN
BLS
