Clinical Nurse II

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our Perinatal Services team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide effective coverage for various roles, including clinical staff nurses, patient care coordinators, and scrub techs as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement plans of care for assigned patients.
- Ensure coordination of care between other disciplines and support staff.
- Perform professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age-appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other to assess, plan, intervene, and advocate for the patient.
- Act as a role model and mentor to students and nurses new to the unit.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in Perinatal Services.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
- Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring certification (required within 6 months of hire).
We welcome candidates with:
- Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience working as a clinical lead or charge nurse.
- Demonstrated experience scrubbing in surgical procedures.
- Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families.
This role requires:
- RN licensure.
- NRP certification.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
