Job Summary

The Associate Director of Student Accessibility Services is a key member of the university community, responsible for ensuring equal access to educational programs and services for students with disabilities. This role requires a strong understanding of disability laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement programs, policies, and processes to support students with disabilities
  • Provide individual consultation and support to students, staff, and faculty regarding disability-related issues
  • Coordinate university programs to ensure compliance with disability laws and regulations
  • Manage and evaluate programs, services, and assistive technology to ensure equal access for students with disabilities
  • Develop and implement training programs to increase awareness and understanding of disability issues among faculty, staff, and students
  • Collaborate with campus colleagues to enhance delivery of accommodation support for online students
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external disability and accessibility organizations
  • Research and identify opportunities for external funding to support disability services
  • Supervise staff providing support to students with disabilities
  • Compile and analyze data to inform decision-making and program development
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; Master's degree preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities in a professional setting
  • Strong knowledge of disability laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
Working Conditions

This role requires working in an office environment and on a university campus. The employee must be able to move across the campus to conduct day-to-day business. The physical demands of this role include sitting, walking, and standing, as well as using standard office equipment.
