Job Summary

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) seeks a highly experienced and strategic Executive Director of Student Success and Engagement to lead our student success initiatives and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive student success strategies to enhance student retention and graduation rates.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to design and deliver academic programs and services that support student success.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the student success team, ensuring effective program implementation and evaluation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
  • Develop and manage budgets, allocate resources, and ensure effective use of funds to support student success initiatives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • At least five years of progressive experience in student affairs, program development, or a related field in a higher education setting, with at least three years of leadership and management experience.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with colleagues, coach and develop staff, and design work methods that foster teamwork and cooperation to achieve significant results and support the culture, mission, and values of HACU.

Supervision

The Executive Director of Student Success and Engagement will supervise the activities and staff of the Student Success department, providing strategic direction for the department.

Travel Requirements

The Executive Director of Student Success and Engagement must be available to travel as needed throughout the year, up to 20%.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • The employee will work a standard 40-hour workweek; however, longer hours may be required at times.
  • Development, conference, and event activities may take place in hotel and/or convention center environments and require longer work hours in a changing schedule, including weekends and evenings.
  • The work environment is in an office setting.
  • Occasionally move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally move around the office.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machines.
  • Position self to perform essential job functions in an office environment.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position.
  • Maintain and ensure the security of HACU's equipment, software, data, and supplies.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
