Patient Safety Coordinator

Overview:
The Patient Safety Manager (PSM) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for executing key responsibilities that reflect leadership, meticulous planning, and professional communication. This role requires innovative approaches to enhance patient safety and healthcare program development, alongside the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver presentations through various communication channels.
Key Responsibilities:
The RN PSM will oversee the daily operations and execution of the Patient Safety Program. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating closely with Patient Safety, High Reliability, Innovations, and System Redesign teams.
- Providing support for both short-term and long-term planning initiatives.
- Advising on the development and management of medical center programs to promote safety.
- Compiling patient safety documentation for necessary submissions.
- Offering technical expertise in healthcare planning and advising management on potential revisions to regulations and policies.
- Establishing criteria for internal reviews and monitoring changes in mission, goals, and legislation to adapt work methods accordingly.
Work Environment:
The PSM acts as a consultant for Patient Safety policies and programs, playing a vital role in fostering a culture of safety across the medical center.
Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive salary with regular increases, performance awards, and a comprehensive benefits package including:
- 50 days of paid time off annually (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, and 11 paid Federal holidays).

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory and meet the basic educational requirements. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with relevant experience in quality strategy implementation and patient safety initiatives.
Additional Information:
This position is in the Excepted Service and does not confer competitive status. Participation in vaccination programs is mandatory for all healthcare personnel.
