Position Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Exhibits a welcoming and approachable demeanor to foster a customer-centric environment at all times.

Ensures comprehensive security measures are in place to safeguard the well-being and assets of guests, team members, vendors, and the organization.

Must possess the ability to remain on foot for extended durations, navigate stairs, respond effectively to emergencies, and fulfill the essential functions of the role.

May undertake various Security Staff responsibilities as required, adhering to the protocols established by the Indiana Horse Racing Commission in the following areas:

1. **Substance Testing** - Conducting tests for all drivers, judges, starters, assistant starters, stewards, and jockeys.

2. **Barn Surveillance** - Observing, securing, and reporting any suspicious activities within the barn premises.

3. **Gate Monitoring** - Overseeing and securing the entrance for all equine participants and their handlers.

4. **Paddock Oversight** - Monitoring, securing, and reporting any unusual activities in the paddock area while providing guest assistance.

5. **Grandstand Security** - Observing, securing, and reporting any suspicious occurrences in the grandstand area while offering guest services.

6. **Nighttime Security** - Ensuring the facility is secured at the end of the operational day and maintained for security and operational requirements.

7. **Stable Access Control** - Regulating access and monitoring for any suspicious behavior. Providing security for all grounds and facilities.

8. **Off-Track Betting Oversight** - Monitoring, securing, and reporting any suspicious activities in the OTB area while assisting guests.

9. **Parking Management** - Assisting with parking guidance and traffic flow in designated areas.

10. **Stable Gate Control** - Managing all traffic and entry into and out of stable gate areas.

11. **Testing Facility Security** - Ensuring compliance with regulations; securing the area and observing for any safety concerns or suspicious activities.

12. **Winners Circle Monitoring** - Observing, securing, and reporting any suspicious activities in the winners circle while providing guest assistance.

13. **Escort Duties** - Providing escort services as needed while maintaining vigilance for any suspicious activities or safety issues.

14. **Veterinary Escort** - Observing and escorting veterinarians administering care to animals while ensuring security throughout the process.

15. **Additional Responsibilities** - Performing any other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A valid Motor Vehicle License with a clean driving record is essential. Candidates must be at least 18 years old for certain responsibilities and 21 years old for others. Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid and licensure from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission is required. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is also necessary.
