Must possess the ability to stand or walk for extended durations, navigate stairs, respond effectively to emergencies, and manage the core responsibilities associated with the role.
May undertake various Security Staff roles as necessary, adhering to the regulations established by the Indiana Horse Racing Commission in the following capacities:1. **Alcohol Testing** - Conduct testing for all drivers, judges, starters, assistant starters, stewards, and jockeys.
2. **Barn Monitoring** - Observe, secure, and report any suspicious activities within the barns.
3. **Back Gate Oversight** - Ensure the security and monitoring of the gate for all horses and handlers.
4. **Front Paddock Surveillance** - Observe, secure, and report any suspicious activities in the area while providing guest assistance.
5. **Grandstands Monitoring** - Ensure security and report any suspicious activities while assisting guests.
6. **Midnight Grandstands** - Secure the facility at the end of operations and maintain security and operational standards.
7. **Midnight Stable Gate** - Control access and monitor for any suspicious activities, ensuring security for all grounds and buildings.
8. **OTB Post Monitoring** - Observe, secure, and report any suspicious activities while assisting guests.
9. **Paddock Surveillance** - Monitor, secure, and report any suspicious activities or safety concerns in the area.
10. **Parking Management** - Assist with directing parking and managing traffic flow in parking areas.
11. **Stable Gate Control** - Manage all traffic and entry into and out of stable gate areas.
12. **Test Barn Oversight** - Ensure compliance with regulations; secure the area and observe for any suspicious activities or safety issues.
13. **Winners Circle Monitoring** - Observe, secure, and report any suspicious activities while providing guest assistance.
14. **Escort Duties** - Provide escort services as needed while maintaining vigilance for any suspicious activities or safety concerns.
15. **Veterinarian Escort** - Observe and escort all veterinarians providing treatment to animals, ensuring security throughout.
16. **Additional Responsibilities** - Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A valid Motor Vehicle License with a clean driving record is required. Candidates must be at least 18 years old for Backside roles and 21 years old for Frontside roles. Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid and licensure from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission is necessary. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is also required.
