Position Overview
The Bilingual Accounting Manager - Expense Management is responsible for overseeing the performance management of the cost center framework and the expense allocation model across different legal entities and business lines. This role involves the implementation and application of the expense allocation methodology within the general ledger, along with continuous reassessment of the allocation methodology in response to transformational changes within the organization.

The Bilingual Accounting Manager - Expense Management will play a crucial role in budgeting and forecasting expenses aligned with projected growth, as well as conducting monthly and quarterly evaluations of expense outcomes for the Regional Group Function.

This position will contribute to establishing a robust internal control environment for Expense Accounting, ensuring the highest standards are met. It will also involve close collaboration with the Regional Leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborates with Finance teams in Latin America and the US to create and implement a strategic vision for redesigning the cost center structure, enhancing the expense allocation infrastructure, automating processes, and streamlining the operating model.
  2. Establishes the framework for allocations by partnering with Controllers and Finance Leaders in the region and external consultants.
  3. Works with various internal stakeholders to support necessary expense data analysis, utilizing benchmarking analysis to identify opportunities for expense efficiency and best practices.
  4. Develops financial reporting processes and controls to uphold the expense allocation framework to the highest standards.
  5. Responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual expenses in relation to historical and forecasted results.
  6. Manages the Procurement process in the region, overseeing supplier agreements, maintaining a centralized contract repository, and supporting supplier relationship management to ensure compliance with contractual terms and Group Policy.
  7. Leads the implementation and rollout of new Travel & Expense policies in the region.
  8. Fosters strong cross-functional partnerships among finance, operations, claims, underwriting teams, and other stakeholders to develop strategies addressing process and data-related challenges.
  9. Drives continuous process improvement initiatives by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  10. Communicates effectively within the team and across organizational boundaries to ensure alignment and successful completion of shared objectives.
  11. Encourages a collaborative environment focused on talent development, innovation, and the promotion of organizational values.
  12. Undertakes special projects as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; postgraduate studies in Accounting/Finance or an active CPA license is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, including 5 years in expense management and allocation within the insurance sector.
  • Familiarity with Global Accounting systems and SAP is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Experience in leading complex process improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP (or IFRS) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in advanced MS Excel and Financial Applications (Finance BI).
