As the Financial Operations Manager, you will oversee the financial and accounting functions, which include the execution of financial transactions, preparation of regular financial statements, and upkeep of financial records. Collaborating closely with the team, your goal will be to improve the precision of the organization's financial reporting and ensure adherence to established accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the formulation of policies, procedures, and systems to facilitate the growth of the organization.
  • Supervises the accuracy and efficiency of daily accounting tasks such as billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and revenue recognition.
  • Maintains a robust system of controls over financial transactions, including payroll management and reporting.
  • Collaborates with Supply Chain to ensure accurate inventory management through regular cycle counts and data analysis.
  • Delivers exceptional support to various stakeholders, including customers, program managers, human resources, and executive leadership.
  • Guarantees the accuracy and completeness of monthly and year-end financial closings.
  • Implements all financial policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Prepares documentation for annual audits and compliance reviews.
  • Ensures timely and precise entry of all financial data into the system.
  • Effectively builds and nurtures a competent accounting team.
  • Exhibits supervisory responsibilities in line with company policies and relevant laws.
  • Performs additional duties as required.
  • Maintains regular and dependable attendance as per the established schedule.
  • Demonstrates professional conduct with both internal and external business partners, reflecting positively on the organization.
  • Embodies the cultural values of the organization and aligns daily actions with departmental objectives and company ethos.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in revenue recognition, particularly in relation to estimates at completion, estimated time to complete, work in progress, and cost of goods sold for long-term projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of inventory management and manufacturing accounting.
  • Proven track record of enhancing operational efficiencies through process improvement and establishing internal controls.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, automated financial reporting, and ERP systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to thrive under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with government contracting and FAR regulations is advantageous.

Education / Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience is required.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role is essential.
  • Familiarity with government contractor accounting practices and DCAA compliance is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP system implementation is beneficial.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to sit and utilize computers and office equipment.
  • Frequently required to perform repetitive movements with hands and fingers.
