Role Overview


At Principal Financial Services, Inc., we are seeking a highly qualified and driven Risk Management Specialist to enhance our Third-Party Risk initiative.

Your role will involve supporting our Third-Party Risk application, playing a vital part in the effective implementation of our risk management strategies and methodologies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee risk programs, processes, functions, and enhancements to positively impact adherence to risk management protocols.
  • Conduct risk evaluations, assessments, and reporting to identify trends and insights related to risk initiatives.
  • Engage and collaborate with essential business and risk stakeholders, leading presentations and training sessions for staff.
  • Ensure close cooperation with and advocate for the customer to the application administration and development teams.
  • Utilize technical product knowledge or specific domain expertise to establish a product differentiation strategy from a technical standpoint.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional COUPA team in planning product releases and monitoring progress towards updates and resolution of defects/bugs.
  • Develop the product vision and roadmap to achieve the strategic goals.

Candidate Profile

To be successful in this position, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in risk management, ideally within an enterprise or third-party risk management framework.
  • Strong proficiency in COUPA is preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with internal business operations and/or corporate functions is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $167,200 per year. Non-sales roles have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program, while sales positions may qualify for sales incentives and bonuses based on individual performance.

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is available for salaried employees, allowing for paid time away from work for vacation, personal matters, or short-term illness without accruing a set number of days.

This position is pension eligible.
