Pace University LGBTQA+ Center Office Assistant Job Description

**Job Summary:**

The LGBTQA+ Center Office Assistant will provide administrative support to the department. This role will be responsible for performing miscellaneous clerical duties, answering phones, and greeting visitors to the office. The Office Assistant will also assist with various department projects, including executing programming and staffing events.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Greet and assist incoming student, staff, and faculty visitors
* Answer a wide variety of questions related to the department's procedures and other general questions (training will be provided)
* General clerical duties such as photocopying, posting flyers, filing, shredding, and other duties as assigned
* Assist with answering phone calls; taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary
* Perform other such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
* Organize, execute, support, and host LGBTQA+ Center programming based on availability

**Requirements:**

* This is a work study position and applicants must be awarded work study
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
* Must be able to handle confidential information in a discreet manner
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Reliable and patient with visitors
* Office experience a plus
* Ability to work independently
* Strong customer service and organizational skills
