Job Overview

The Patient Registration Representative is responsible for various tasks related to patient registration in a dynamic environment, ensuring both precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately entering patient demographic and insurance details.
  • Facilitating telemedicine registrations through the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Acting as the main liaison between patients and healthcare staff.
  • Welcoming patients with a courteous and supportive approach.
  • Verifying insurance eligibility.
  • Collecting co-payments and outstanding balances during registration.
  • Reconciling financial transactions at the conclusion of each shift.
  • Addressing overdue accounts during the registration process.
  • Managing incoming phone inquiries and directing them to the relevant personnel.
  • Interpreting billing statements for patients.
  • Processing incoming Account Receivables payments.
  • Participating in required training sessions and attending team meetings.
  • Assisting with the operational tasks necessary for opening and closing the facility for patient services.
  • Faxing or emailing confirmed laboratory results to designated parties.
  • Requesting pre-authorization for credit card transactions.
  • Establishing installment payment arrangements.
  • Promoting positive interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Maintaining a tidy work environment, ensuring that the workspace and staff areas are organized and that all equipment is stored properly at the end of each shift.
  • Reporting any patient or parent complaints to management promptly for appropriate resolution.
Qualifications
  • Proficient in computer operations (logging in/out, utilizing search engines, etc.)
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal abilities.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and PHI (Protected Health Information) regulations.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Typing speed of 40 WPM with 90% accuracy.
  • Preferred: One year of experience in patient registration.
  • Preferred: One year of experience with health insurance.
Compensation:
$21.50 per hour
