Position Overview

Program Support Specialist

Families and Youth Innovation Plus is seeking two part-time Program Support Specialists for the HOK Program.

The Program Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that the youth perspective is integrated into the planning, execution, and assessment of all youth-focused programs, services, initiatives, and projects. This role does not involve direct service delivery to program participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to assigned committees and project teams by sharing insights, feedback, and personal experiences.
  • Support the creation of new youth-centered programs and initiatives by providing expert insights during meetings, assisting with data collection, and engaging in community outreach.
  • Facilitate the implementation of youth-focused initiatives by offering expert perspectives, aiding in marketing efforts, and performing related tasks as needed.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of programs by providing feedback and helping to develop strategies for quality enhancement.
  • Guide youth engagement strategies across all programs and initiatives.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.
  • Engage in public speaking events and discussions to represent the youth perspective.
  • Assist in creating and capturing content for social media related to agency events and outreach.
  • Take part in mock groups and activities for training purposes.
  • Advocate for the inclusion of youth voices in program development.
  • Help plan and coordinate various projects and events.
  • Deliver services in a culturally sensitive and ethical manner.
  • Maintain professional communication with team members and community partners.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
  • This role may require evening and weekend availability.

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidates are individuals with relevant lived experiences, particularly those pursuing careers in social work, psychology, education, counseling, criminal justice, or human services.
  • Encouragement is extended to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals to apply.
  • Experience in hospitality or a background in dance, outdoor activities, and technology (including podcasts and drones) is preferred.
  • Flexible scheduling is available within the standard workweek, with occasional weekend commitments.
