Job Overview
We are seeking to fill positions for Structural Plans Review Engineers within our Community Planning and Development Department. This role is essential for ensuring that both residential and commercial projects comply with established building codes and standards. We are looking for candidates who are dedicated to making a positive impact in their community through their work.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and analyze architectural and structural construction documents to ensure adherence to relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Provide feedback on engineering calculations and communicate any design deficiencies effectively.
• Engage with various stakeholders, including design professionals and contractors, to clarify permit application processes and code requirements.
• Participate in coordination meetings for private development and public improvement projects to facilitate timely approvals.
• Support inspectors with complex code compliance queries and provide guidance on plan review comments.
• Contribute to the development of policies and standards, and evaluate the effectiveness of existing procedures.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• A minimum of five years of experience in structural design across a variety of building types and materials.
• Proficiency in using Bluebeam Revu is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
• Capacity to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Attention to detail and a thorough understanding of building codes.
• Possession of International Code Council Building Plans Examiner Certification is preferred.

Education and Licensing:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
• Three years of professional engineering experience post-licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect is necessary.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect in Colorado is required at the time of application.
