Job Description Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting in-house technicians in the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in the facility operation of a multi-building portfolio in Cambridge, MA.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of basic hand tools.
- Some mechanical aptitude.
- Must have a positive attitude and be willing to assist in any engineering/maintenance task.
- Excellent interpersonal skills needed.
- Demonstrated success in contributing to a team.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Basic computer usage.
- Assist in-house technicians including but not limited to:
- Daily operations/rounds of building systems.
- Perform service calls/work orders under the supervision of a technician.
- Maintenance in mechanical rooms and rooftops.
- Assist in the replacement of filters in the HVAC equipment.
- General cleaning in mechanical spaces and perimeter induction units.
- Cleanup of equipment in mechanical room and shop.
- Miscellaneous tasks requiring the use of hand tools.
- Chiller/Boiler tube punching.
