Position Summary:
As an Estimator, you will play a vital role in accurately assessing the costs associated with construction projects, ensuring that all financial elements are thoroughly evaluated and managed. This position is essential for securing profitable projects while maintaining competitive pricing. Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate comprehensive cost estimates by scrutinizing plans and specifications, along with conducting quality takeoffs for all scopes and trades.
  • Create and prepare conceptual estimates with minimal input from subcontractors, utilizing limited information.
  • Foster subcontractor interest in projects and oversee the subcontractor RFP process.
  • Develop high-quality subcontractor proposals tailored to project specifics.
  • Detail trade-specific scopes and prepare bid packages.
  • Review software-generated estimates for completeness and technical accuracy to ensure quality and integrity.
  • Engage with clients, architects, engineers, and local authorities to comprehend and integrate project objectives, timelines, permits, costs, etc.
  • Assist the construction team in preparing job schedules.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience in commercial construction estimating, particularly in conceptual budgeting.
  • Extensive understanding of industry practices, procedures, and market trends.
  • A four-year degree in construction management or engineering, or at least five years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in commercial construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management.
  • General Contractor's license or building license.
  • Additional certifications in marine or healthcare-related fields.
