Position Summary: Roofing Estimator

Role Description:

We are seeking a qualified candidate who can manage various projects comprehensively: from design and estimation to client selections and execution. Our approach emphasizes treating each project uniquely, ensuring exceptional customer experiences rooted in transparency, excellence, and integrity.

This role diverges from the conventional sales/project manager/estimator position. We focus on premium, custom roofing systems, often involving intricate designs with valleys, flat sections, and multi-story elements. The estimator will analyze aerial roof reports to create detailed estimates that outline the necessary labor and materials for project completion. Additionally, reviewing builder plans and assessing elevations may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough estimates for residential roofing projects (including shingle, tile, and metal).
  • Examine requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to fully understand project specifications.
  • Identify production factors that will impact overall costs.
  • Keep abreast of current market pricing for materials within the estimating system.
  • Generate comprehensive job cost reports.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors.
  • Facilitate hand-off meetings with assigned project managers.
  • Present prepared estimates to management for review.


Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Construction or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with The Edge estimating software is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Experience in analyzing requirement data to formulate material and cost estimates for residential projects.
  • Capability to read and interpret technical documents accurately.
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
