Position Overview

This role serves as the EHS&S subject matter expert, overseeing all EHS&S initiatives at our facilities with the aim of ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Collaborate with corporate EHS&S teams to develop and implement corporate strategies and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and assist departments in the execution of policies and procedures aimed at enhancing employee safety and environmental protection.
  • Collaborate with site personnel to foster a proactive safety culture that integrates EHS&S into daily operations.
  • Establish and manage the EHS&S inspection program utilizing the corporate management system. Support assessments and ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Engage with site leadership and senior management to conduct regular reviews and updates on EHS&S performance.
  • Advise management and staff on compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensure that comprehensive training programs are in place for all employees regarding environmental, health, and safety compliance.
  • Oversee the timely submission of EHS&S reports and permits to relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Work with leadership and procurement teams to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality EHS&S services.
  • Lead and coordinate responses to inspections conducted by regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with facilities management on construction projects to address EHS&S considerations.
  • Develop budgets and timelines for EHS&S initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Monitor the progress of EHS&S projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules.
  • Guide the selection and hiring process for third-party service providers related to EHS&S needs.
  • Supervise and mentor EHS&S staff, fostering professional development.
  • Work with engineering teams to identify and mitigate potential EHS&S risks through design modifications.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as life sciences or environmental engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a regulated environment.
  • Certifications: Preferred certifications include CSP, CIH, or other relevant EHS credentials.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and proficiency in MS Office.
