Charles River is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to join our team as a Manager Environmental Health, Safety. This role will be responsible for overseeing all EHS programs at our Rockville and Hanover facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Work with corporate EHS staff to develop and support the rollout of corporate programs related to EHS implementation.
- Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on EHS procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with site leadership to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and manage EHS budgets and schedules to ensure effective resource allocation.
- Lead the selection process for hiring third-party service firms to support EHS initiatives.
- Consult with corporate engineering and workplace staff to identify and resolve potential EHS issues through engineering design changes or other means necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., environmental science, occupational health and safety).
- 5+ years of experience in EHS, with a focus on regulatory compliance and program management.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, DOT).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior management on EHS compliance initiatives.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Charles River offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $118,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
