Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical research memoranda, nexus studies, exposure quantification, voluntary disclosures, and other sales tax mitigation strategies.
  • Business Development: Generate new revenue on existing client portfolio, cross-sell, and grow new client relationships for the tax practice.
  • People Management: Serve as a Career Advisor, mentor, or coach to one or more employees, providing honest and timely performance feedback.
  • Client Service: Lead and manage the business relationship of complex engagements, focusing on high-value, quality tax advice and seeking to expand services to clients.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of experience providing sales and use tax consulting services in a public accounting, consulting, or law firm.
  • Skills: Thorough knowledge of state and local sales and use tax laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as tax planning, restructuring, due diligence, audit defense, reverse audits, and state controversy work.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management: Project management and critical thinking skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
